PHASE 1: INTRODUCTORY IUS TRAINING
iUSCAN welcomes participating Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) learners for introductory intestinal ultrasound training. The course combines foundational teaching with small-group, hands-on scanning to build confidence in scanning technique, bowel segment identification, standardized image acquisition, and early supervised practice.
Learners complete introductory eLearning before attending. This course begins a longitudinal pathway of independent scanning, coaching, skill reinforcement, and competency-based assessment.
